Frequently Asked Qustions
The first step in the renovation process is to layout a scope of work that needs to be done. Finishes need to be selected, such as flooring, tiles, cabinets, trim details, etc., allowing us to put together detailed estimate. Once approved we can order items and schedule work. Normally, we start work once the orders are in hand, which allows the project to keep moving.
The first day consists of protecting existing surfaces and items that are to remain, followed by selective demolition and removals. We coordinate the mechanical, electrical and HVAC trades as the project progresses.
Once the mechanical trades are roughed in, the walls can be closed up and the finishes installed. Next the cabinetry, trim, paint and other finishes are completed, along with the mechanical trades.
Final clean up and project is done.
Throughout the project we maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness out of respect for the home and its occupants.
The timeline depends on the scope of the project: what needs to be done and how long materials take to arrive. Typically projects range from 2 weeks to 3 months, which is why we try our best to plan well and communicate every step of the way to ensure our homeowners are well informed on their individual project.
